Job Description

TEL Staffing is hiring EXPERIENCED Helicopter Pilots for an employee-owned company, based out of Salem, VA, This company performs both spray and utility operation and conducts a variety of operations ranging from forestry spraying to Firefighting/Charters.  The candidate must have an extensive background in firefighting, long line/external load, utility/powerline, conducting/scheduling training, and customer interaction.  The candidate will also be responsible for RTS maintenance flights for our 145 Repair Station.  Considerable flight time must have been achieved in Bell 206B, 206L, 407, 205, UH1H, 412 and 429 airframes.

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Must have a minimum of 1500 flight hours 
• Maintaining and updating the GOM, Ops Specs, and other critical documents.
• Managing pilot qualifications, pilot schedules, and operational readiness.
• Interacting directly with the FAA
• Administrative duties associated with customer billing.
• Direct interaction with our 145 repair station management.
• A current FAA commercial pilot certificate (helicopter), Class 1 or 2 medical.

Required skills/Abilities:

• Strong leadership and interspersal skills.
• Must be able to exercise good judgement in a team environment as well as in aircraft operation and safety.
• Must have problem solving and organizational skills.
• Performing pre and post flight inspections.
• Must be willing to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels and move items of 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
• Active, valid Driver’s License required.
• High school diploma, or GED required.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and FAA. regulated drug/alcohol tests prior to start. Will be enrolled in our random drug pool.

Location : Salem, VA
Schedule : Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (some evening and weekend work)
Pay : Based on Experience, ranging from Annual $150k-$180k
