Job Description

A private family in Washington, DC is seeking an exceptional Private Chef who is meticulous, creative, confident, and genuinely passionate about food. This is a principal who loves food and loves talking about food, so personality and enthusiasm are just as important as culinary talent!

Schedule : Full-Time, 5 days/week (must be open to working weekends) 

Compensation : $150k-$175k + comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, an HSA, 401(k) with employer match, and paid time off.

• An exceptional Chef with strong experience in French and Asian cuisine
• Truly passionate about food - you love talking about ingredients, dishes, techniques, restaurants, and new ideas
• Creative and excited to bring fresh menu ideas to the table
• Meticulous about quality, presentation, organization, and the details that make a meal exceptional
• Confident in your abilities and comfortable making recommendations and introducing the principal to new dishes
• Warm, personable, and engaging - someone who can connect with the principal through a shared love of food
• Knowledgeable about sourcing exceptional ingredients and creating thoughtful, seasonal menus
• Professional, reliable, organized, and experienced working within a private household

Qualifications:

• Formal culinary training from an accredited culinary school or recognized culinary program required
• 5+ years of professional culinary experience, ideally within private households or high-end culinary environments
• Strong background in French and Asian cuisine
• Excellent menu development, ingredient sourcing, and food presentation skill
• Experience managing all aspects of a private kitchen, including grocery shopping, inventory, organization, and food safety
• Strong professional references
• Discreet, polished, and comfortable working within a private household
